Three foal shows with fantastic offspring
In summery weather, three foal shows took place on our farm on Tuesday and Wednesday - with great results, promising offspring and two young stallions who impressively presented their first crop.
Tuesday: Jumping offspring of the Oldenburg International Breeding Association & Easy Jet
On Tuesday afternoon, the foal show of the jumping foals of the Oldenburg International Breeding Association opened the show weekend. The focus was on the progeny evaluation of the stallion Easy Jet (by Emerald van't Ruytershof - Cornet Obolensky), who impressed with his first foal crop.
Oldenburg's breeding director Peer Eitenmüller was impressed: "The offspring presented themselves with long legs, harmonious conformation, beautiful faces and active, relaxed movements - just as you would expect from modern show jumping foals. Of the 13 foals presented, 10 received a premium and 3 were named elite foals.
- Champion foal: No. 355 - stallion by Easy Jet out of Okay Blue (by Ogano - Mr. Blue), bred at Hof Sosath
- Reserve winner: No. 356 - mare out of Dinkelroos (by Landor S - Zeus), bred by: B.J. Homan, NL
- 3rd place (shared):
- No. 364 - stallion out of Romina de Luxe (by Rouletto - Salvano), breeder: Sina Emken
- No. 366 - mare out of Cadora (by Catoki - Landor S), bred by: Sosath family
A total of 59 foals were presented on this day. Of these, 45 received a premium, 10 were recognized as elite foals and 6 of these elite foals received an invitation to the auction.
Wednesday morning: Hanoverian foal show
The Hanoverians continued on Wednesday. Two offspring of our station stallions came out on top of the field of participants:
- Winning dressage foal: filly by For Dance out of Valetta (by Vivaldos - Royal Classic), bred by Frank Gohde, Hatten
- Champion foal show jumping: Stallion by Diamant de Plaisir II out of Casina Grande (by Casino Grande - Acorado), bred by: Katrin Schmidt, Rohrsen
Wednesday afternoon: Oldenburg dressage foals & Bondolo's debut
The afternoon was all about the Oldenburg dressage offspring - with a highly acclaimed debut: Our young stallion Bondolo presented his first foal crop and impressed across the board. The typey foals with expressive faces, lively movement and very good walk delighted the audience and the judging committee.
Gerd Sosath was delighted:
"We saw great types with strong movement - an outstanding first crop of foals by the young stallion Bondolo!"
- Winning foal: Mare out of Quatergirl (by Quaterback - Raphael), breeder: Frank Holtz
- Reserve Champion: Mare out of Virginia (by Vivaldos - Ampère), a half-sister to our stallion Fine Future, bred by: Sosath family
- 3rd place (shared):
- Mare by Bondolo - Fürstenball - Weltmeyer, breeder: Sebastian Rentz
- Stallion by Bondolo out of Enjoy (by Franziskus - Don Gregory), breeder: Kerstin Weiland
Four Bondolo foals received the foal premium, four received the elite foal award, two of them with auction approval.
A total of 34 foals from the Oldenburg Verband were presented on Wednesday afternoon. 22 received a premium, 6 were awarded the elite foal award, three of which received an invitation to the auction. Four of Bondolo's foals were awarded premiums, four of them were selected as elite foals, including two with auction approval.
