Miscellaneous provisions of Gerd Sosath's EU-approved semen collection centre (D-KBPO 36-EWG)
All breeders, who use our services accept the following terms, as well as the insemination and covering conditions of the respective associations.
The Oldenburg Association's Terms and Conditions of Covering/Insemination apply as well.
If the mare does not conceive or resorbs in 2024, the paid fee will be fully credited to the insemination fee in the 2025. This is subject to veterinarian confirmation of the mare not being in foal provided by November 1st, 2024. Without this confirmation we are not able to issue a credit.
The breeding season begins on February 1st and ends on August 15th of the same year.
Scientifically valid stud fees are published in our brochure and on our website. There are special rates for prepayment when using fresh semen. Breeders with several mares receive discounts. Please ask the exact conditions at our station.
Please note, that a scheduled embryo transfer must be provided. Please remember that embryo transfers are subject to payment of the stud fee in respect of every flushed out embryo. A discount will be granted if several embryos are flushed out. We receive semen orders by e-mail, telephone or fax until 10.00 a.m.!
The following information should be provided in conjunction with semen orders:
- Stallion's name
- First and last name and full address of the mare's owner
- Name of your breeding association so that we can register the mare's insemination
- Exact shipping address
- Mare's details (name, UELN, copy of lineage table, age)
- Name and address of the veterinarian who makes the insemination
Please send us your breeder's certificates at the beginning of the breeding season!
Semen delivery costs will be paid by the breeder and the costs will be charged separately. The stud fee is payable prior to the use of the semen.
The overnight international shipping is possible from Monday to Thursday (with some exceptions, to Friday).
The daytime shipping via Hippo-Express is available every day, but must be filled no later than 7:15 a.m. When shipping abroad, there are additional costs for the official veterinary certificate.
Court insemination is possible. Mares will only be inseminated after a follicle check. Ultrasound- and gestation diagnosis as well as follicle checks are calculated separately from the vet. Artificial insemination and veterinary treatments (cervical swabs, gynaecological examinations etc.) will be performed by the stud veterinarian, Dr. Lagershausen.
Boxing and good pastures are available for the accommodation of the mares. The daily rate for mares (also with foal) is 15,00 Euro. The accomodation occurs at the owner of the mare's own risk.
If a stallion becomes unavailable at short notice during the breeding season for any particular reason (competition, sickness etc.), we will offer you frozen semen, if possible, or an alternative stallion of your choice.
Claim to repayment of the covering money does not exist.
The breeder's certificate will not be issued or forwarded to the association until payment of the stud fee has been effected.
Frozen semen will be invoiced per mare and includes up to three insemination doses. After this, another stud fee is due, without any deduction or entitlement to a credit due to non-pregnancy. One insemination dose will be delivered per heat. Before the frozen semen is sent, a user agreement for the frozen semen must be sent to us by fax or email, otherwise the shipment cannot take place.
The frozen semen remains the property of the Gerd Sosath stallion station. In case of non-use, the semen must be sent back. The semen must not be passed on to third parties or be used on other mares.
The delivery containers, which are the property of the Gerd Sosath stallion station, must be sent back to the station within four calendar days. Otherwise, from the fifth calendar day, a fee of €25.00 per day will be invoiced.
The non-return or loss of the container will be charged at the full rate.
If the private container of the breeder is used, the Gerd Sosath station assumes no liability.
The proof of use documents included with delivery, filled in and signed by the veterinarian/insemination technician, as well as the empty straws, have to be sent back to us immediately.
The seed shipment is subject to German law.
The court is Oldenburg in Oldbg.
An inspection of the stallions is possible after telephone registration.
