Caliente Catoki
- German Sporthorse
- grey
- *2017
- 173 cm
Description
Already in young horse classes, Caliente Catoki impressed with top scores, demonstrating his exceptional jumping talent at an early age. The Catoki son is now successfully placed in international competitions. He represents the modern generation of high-performance show jumpers: blood-influenced, careful, with a quick front leg, powerful hindquarters and excellent rideability.
A true athlete, Caliente Catoki has quickly become a new favorite of Gerd Sosath:
“This grey stallion gives me joy every day. The rideability reminds me very much of his sire Catoki, who stood with us for many years and with whom I won, among other things, the Grand Prix of Rastede.”
Origin
With Catoki, Caretino and Lancer II, Caliente Catoki combines three of the most influential and proven bloodlines of Holsteiner show jumping breeding, which have significantly shaped sport and breeding worldwide.
His sire Catoki enjoyed outstanding success at the highest international level. He began his career under Gerd Sosath, winning, among others, the Grand Prix of Rastede and achieving top results at the World Championships for Young Show Jumping Horses in Lanaken. Later, Catoki went on to win World Cup classes with Philipp Weishaupt. As a sire, he produced numerous 5* show jumpers, including Catch Me If You Can, ridden by Laura Klaphake to team bronze at the 2018 World Equestrian Games in Tryon. Most recently, his son Ermitage Kalone, Team Gold and Individual Bronze medalist at the 2025 European Championships, has taken center stage on the international scene.
The dam Chiara also proved herself in sport: she was successful in young horse show jumping classes up to Medium (M) level before entering breeding.
Of particular note is the half-brother Chapeau 42, who has competed successfully in show jumping classes up to 1.40 m, impressively confirming the athletic heredity and performance strength of this dam line.
Caliente Catoki’s full sister Clara won her mare performance test with top scores for rideability and jumping ability. She was subsequently awarded champion mare at several mare shows. At the age of four, she produced her first foal, which was sold via an Elite Auction to the Holsteiner Verband.
Today, Clara is highly successful in young horse show jumping classes up to Medium (M) level.
Caliente Catoki’s dam line 1384 ranks among the most successful in Holstein, although many of the horses were sold abroad at an early stage.
