Throwback to 2024: Lady Grande is OS Champion Mare

This week the Oldenburg State Show is back in Rastede and with it the Elite Mare Show of the Oldenburg Horse Breeding Association.

We have fond memories of last year, when Lady Grande was the champion mare. This year she has already given birth to a fantastic colt by Ermitage Kalone (photo 2):

Two half-sisters from our Lady Heida II win gold and bronze at the Brillantring in Rastede

A daughter of Casino Grande was crowned OS Champion Mare at the Brillantring. The mare, born in 2021, is called Lady Grande and is by Casino Grande out of our foundation mare Lady Heida II by Landor S - Contender.

Heike Kemmer:

‘Here she is, the stable, beautifully constructed Oldenburg Champion Mare from the OS programme. An incredibly modern show jumper with stability in her back and a very well connected hind leg, she jumps very easily and is very athletic with three well-balanced gaits. I really liked it when she started out of trot into canter here at the front. You can already imagine how she can push off, how balanced she will canter in the course. [...] Congratulations on such a great mare!’

The Oldenburg association writes:

‘The powerful jumping mare received an overall score of 8.60 in her performance test. The OS Championess comes from the famous mare line of Heida. Dam Lady Heida II herself paraded at the Brillantring in Rastede in 2004 and has already produced four licensed stallions in Cador by Catoki, Diamant de Landor by Diamant de Semilly, Calandor by Casalido and Comanchero by Comme Prévu as well as numerous successful sport offspring, including the 2014 OS Champion mare Lady Cadora OLD by Catoki.’

The little sister of Cador ranks in bronze: Lady Columbia by Catoki - Landor S. Lady Columbia was presented as part of the pilot project in the short course at the mare performance test and has already been highly successful in tests for young show jumpers.

Heike Kemmer comments on the mare:

‘This five-year-old mare [...] showed a lot of power and stability on the triangular ring today. This was also reflected in her scores in the field test. Under saddle in jumping she shows a lot of scope and responsiveness. A very powerful, well-constructed mare from a very proven dam line out of Lady Heida II.’

Bella Morena by Moreno out of Bonita le Fleur by For Dance - Ampère was honoured with the 1g premium in the Brilliant Ring of the OL mares.

Many thanks to the Oldenburg Verband and the team of the Oldenburg State Show for this successful event and to the entire Team Sosath.
