Breeders' Advent 2024 - An atmospheric evening full of highlights
On the 3rd weekend of Advent, we once again welcomed hundreds of horse lovers to the festively decorated indoor arena for the traditional Breeders' Advent. The promising young talents and our proven sires of the current breeding season were presented in jumping, dressage and in hand.
The most important breeders were especially honored at the big breeder award ceremony: our successful breeders, who have been able to enjoy premium mares and licensed stallions in recent months.
Gerd Sosath took the opportunity to talk to individual breeders and guests in front of a large audience. In entertaining interviews, the managing directors of the three major breeding associations Westphalia (Carsten Rotermund), Hanover (Wilken Treu) and Oldenburg (Dr. André Hahn) spoke about current developments and challenges in horse breeding. Media expert and OS board member Ina Tenz exchanged views with Janne Sosath-Hahn on social media and the responsibility this entails for everyone involved.
In an atmospheric setting, Hendrik Sosath proudly presented the young talents Easy Jet by Emerald and Stakkato Cornet by Stakkato Gold. The young stallions Capital One and Diamant de Plaisir II also impressed at the jump.
The young stallion by Casino Berlin out of the internationally successful Toulon - Voltaire mare Gestelle impressed the audience with his impressive performance in hand. The youngster has been approved for the Oldenburg Stallion Days in January 2025. The Hanoverian by Pegase van't Ruytershof - Numero Uno, who was recently licensed in Verden, is brand new to the Sosath stallion collection. Gerd Sosath is delighted with his new acquisition: “Pegase van't Ruytershof is one of the most sought-after stallions in Belgium and this young stallion has very promising genetics. In addition, his athletic type with a particularly stable back - that convinced me straight away.”
In addition to the proven old stallions Casino Berlin and Cador, several offspring were also in the spotlight. The full siblings Casper and Cachensky by Casiro out of Corlina by Corlensky G - Landor S were back with Heike Jahnke and Hendrik Sosath. They marched together with their famous full sister Lady Corlina. Meanwhile, the mare's worldwide successes, whether in Shanghai, Paris, London or St. Tropez, flickered across the video screen.
Gerd Sosath's three OS-winning mares, Lady Grande, Lady Casina and Lady Cadora OLD, represented the successful breeding of the Heida line.
A special highlight was the presentation of the main premium winner Federer. Under the saddle of Madita Rentz, the six-year-old stallion attracted everyone's attention. With an impressive willingness to collect and outstanding basic gaits, he presented himself in top form.
The three-year-old gray stallion Bondolo also thrilled the audience. Madita Rentz presented the youngster in a harmonious performance and impressively demonstrated his excellent rideability and impressive movement potential. The family stallion For Dance impressed with his charisma and made children's eyes light up when he was stroked by his fans in the rows of spectators.
“Birthday girl” Danica Duen proudly presented the reigning Bundeschampion of three-year-old pony stallions Noble Dance by Neverland WE and the premium stallion Never stop Dancing by FS Next Diamond NRW.
Jan Ahlers was once again on hand with his accordion and trumpet to motivate the guests to sing Christmas carols. The late evening provided space for conversation and socializing.
