Temperament, rideability, ability - the compact grey stallion Highfield continues to impress day after day.
At just four years old, he already made a strong impression in his first competition appearances: In Münster, he won under the saddle of Mathis Schwentker with a score of 9.0.
Shortly thereafter, he was crowned Deister Champion at the traditional tournament at Dobrock.
Origin
Sire Heartbreaker was not only successful himself in the most challenging show jumping competitions; he also reliably passes on his qualities to his offspring. Nearly 150 of his sons have been licensed, including other greats such as Toulon and Action-Breaker, and over 100 of his offspring have proven themselves in show jumping competitions over 1.60 meters.
The dam’s sire, Ogano Sitte, is considered one of the most significant Darco sons. Under Philippe Lejeune, the stallion enjoyed success at the highest international level. Among his greatest achievements is his victory in the Grand Prix of Naples. Ogano Sitte is now ranked among the best Belgian show jumping sires. For example, he had the most offspring competing at the French National Championships in Fontainebleau. Among others, he sired the 1.60-meter horses Aganix du Seigneur (Jos Lansink), Ikker (Olivier Philippaerts), Sisley de la Tour Vidal (Pénelope Leprevost), and Gaudi (Marcus Ehning and Ludger Beerbaum).
Highfield’s dam line is in no way inferior to his sire line:
His dam, Oak Grove’s Olympia, is herself successful in 1.40m show jumping, but his second dam, Quasibelle du Seigneur, sets entirely new standards. Through embryo transfer, she is the dam of nearly 50 foals, 29 of whom are competing internationally! Seven of her sons have been licensed. Of particular note is Highfield’s three-quarter sister, Mom’s Oak Grove’s Heartfelt, who herself placed at the 1.60m level with Harm Lahde and is the dam of six international “S” level horses: Cardino du Seigneur (Eiken Sato), Oak Grove’s Americana (Nano Healy), Fais Toi Belle du Seigneur (Melanie Cloarec), Cibelle du Seigneur (Jérôme Guery), Decibelle du Seigneur (Constance Adam), and Derby du Seigneur (Christophe Vanderhasselt).
The third and fourth dams, Ta Belle van Sombeke (1.60) and La Belle van Sombeke, also consistently produced horses for the highest level of competition as well as licensed stallions, including Glock’s London—world-famous with Gerco Schröder—Taran de la Pomme (Karline de Brabander, BEL), Golden Hawk (Shane Breen, IRL), and A Pikachu de Muze (Billy Twomey, IRL).
