Description

Bon Coeur impresses with both his own sporting career and that of his children. He himself was a premium stallion at his licensing, winner of his 30-day test and two-time Vice Bundeschampion. His titles also include the 2018 Weltmeyer Prize and the 2023 Grande Prize.

His sporting career began with Lena Berwe and Christin Potratz, who became Vice Bundeschampion of 3 and 4-year-olds respectively with Bon Coeur. After winning a medium dressage test for young horses with Jessica Lynn Thomas, the expressive black stallion switched to Caroline Darcourt. The pair won an Intermediaire I class at their very first show in early 2020. After that, Bon Coeur devoted himself almost exclusively to breeding - with success! This stallion's successes include champion stallions, top prizes and outstanding mares - more on this under ‘Offspring’.

Origin

His sire, Benetton Dream, was Bundeschampion of three-year-old stallions and his walk was honoured with the highest score of 10.0. But this was only the foundation of his career. Several victories in the advanced class, including Grand Prix competitions, testify to his Quality. Almost a dozen licensed sons are a credit to their sire, including Belantis I and II as well as the Grand Prix stallions Botticelli and Briatore.

In addition to Bon Coeur, dam Sonnenschein also produced his full sister Burlesque, who placed at advanced (S) level, as well as the licensed Special Sunshine by Secret.

Dam's sire Sandro Hit - himself Bundeschampion and World Champion of six-year-old dressage horses - became a stamp stallion during his lifetime. He has produced over 190 licensed stallions to date and almost 350 of his children are competing in the advanced dressage class in Germany alone. In 2016, he produced several competitors at the Olympic Games in Rio, including Showtime (Dorothee Schneider) and Jimmy Choo SEQ (Mads Hendeliowitz). Sandro Hit was ranked first in the WBFSH list of the best dressage sires in the world in 2021. He is also the dam's sire of Weihegold OLD (Isabell Werth).

The third sire here is Carismo by Calypso II, who offers an appealing connection to the Holsteiner jumper bloodline.

Offspring

At just 13 years of age, Bon Coeur can look back on numerous licensed sons, including 10 premium stallions. Among them is Bon Courage (MV Vivaldi), who himself is already the sire of the 1.25 million prize-winner Bon Esprit. With his rider Thomas Schulze, he is already competing in advanced (S) level dressage competitions. The 2019 OL Champion Stallion, Bellany, is also sired by Bon Coeur and his dam's sire is De Niro.

Maxi Kraft's Barcelo OLD (MV Caprimond) is victorious in Intermediaire I with his rider Dorothee Schneider - as an eight-year-old. He has also won every single international competition in which he has competed. Bottas SK (MV Florestan I) is also successful in advanced (S) level dressage competitions with his rider Kim Leonie Ricke.

Other successful sport offspring are:

Bonne Riviere (MV Londonderry) won Prix St. Georg as a 7-year-old with rider Ehnita Vergowe (USA), Bon Cavalier (MV Sterntänzer) and Stella-Luisa Wedekind (GER) placed in Inter I as 8-year-olds, Bianka SQF (MV Soliman de Hus) won Prix St. Georg with Lesley Eden (USA) and Belinda FRH (MV Royal Blend) placed in Intermediaire I with rider Lena Hassmann (GER).
