Oldenburg Brillant Ring - Champion Mare Casalique
This has never happened before!
In two consecutive years, the OS champion mare not only comes from the same breeding centre, but even from the same dam line - and is the 3rd champion mare from our company in 4 years.
On Thursday evening, the Rasteder showgrounds are traditionally dominated by the Oldenburg breeding associations. The best young mares are chosen on the Brillant Ring, firstly OS (jumping) and secondly OL (dressage). More than 40 mares were assessed by the expert jury in the afternoon before heading out onto the grass arena in the evening.
After the ranking it was clear: No. 2 Casalique by Casalido out of Laquirinha by Quality - Landor S is the reigning champion mare of the Oldenburg-International Jumper Breeding Association. She follows in the footsteps of her ‘aunt’ Lady Grande, who was also honoured here last year. She is by Casino Grande out of Lady Heida II by Landor S - Contender.
The 1d-decorated mare Lady Lorana (No. 12) also comes from this dam line. She is by Ogano out of the Derby and Aachen successful Lady Lordana OLD by Lordanos - Landor S. Casalique and Lady Lorana were bred by Gerd Sosath.
The Like Pleasure - Lordanos daughter Karrie W (No. 11), bred by our long-standing breeder Werner Weddehage, was able to put herself in the limelight in the afternoon. No. 53 Blanjana by Vivaldos out of Blanka by Royal Classic, bred by Uwe Froebel, Hage and owned by Inga Assing, Halbemond, also impressed there.
Twelve mares from the large dressage field qualified for the Brillantring in the evening. Mayra GP (No. 40), a daughter of Moreno, left the arena as a 1f-awarded mare. The breeder and exhibitor here is ZG Döppert from Dohren. The 1c premium, i.e. second reserve champion mare, went to Pommery Look, a granddaughter of our dressage horse maker For Dance from the successful breeding programme of Christine Arns-Krogmann, Lohne.
We congratulate all breeders on these great successes and would especially like to thank our team for the excellent preparation and presentation of the mares!
