Under Marcus Hermes, Abegglen made it to the finals of the Bundeschampionat for six-year-old dressage horses and twice to the finals of the Nürnberger Burg Pokal and the Louisdor Prize. At the age of eight, Abegglen won his first Grand Prix in Oldenburg. After numerous successes, Marcus Hermes was then appointed by the DOKR Dressage Committee to the Perspective Squad in November 2019.
