Description
A premium stallion in a class of his own - Antonio not only draws attention to himself with his international pedigree, but also impresses with his excellent free jumping and enormous agility, as well as his balanced and powerful gaits. At the Hanoverian licensing last year, he impressed the licensing committee and the expert audience and was honoured as a Hanoverian premium stallion .
Information from the Hanoverian Verband: "The top prize winner of the 2023 Verden Show Jumping Stallion Licensing, Antonio by Aganix du Seigneur/Eldorado van de Zeshoek, is moving from the Celle State Stud to Gerd Sosath in Lemwerder. He has purchased 50 per cent of the stallion from breeder Antonius Schulze Averdiek from Rosendahl. Gerd Sosath was already enthusiastic at the licensing and bid on the premium stallion with the special jumping genetics and the successful dam line. The bid was accepted by the Celle State Stud at the time.
The short-term change was due to the stallion's semen Quality, which led to a change in the purchase. Gerd Sosath would like to offer Antonio a second chance to develop his semen Quality and is confident:'The semen is currently not ready for despatch, but mares from station inseminations have already been reported in foal. Breeders only have to pay stud fees if the mares are pregnant.' In addition to the breeding business, the Sosath stallion station is also focussing on the sporting development of this high-Quality show jumper."
Origin
From the direct dam line of Cornado NRW
Antonio has a highly modern and international jumping pedigree.
His sire Aganix du Seigneur (Jos Lansink/NED) is a 5* Grand Prix horse and passes on refinement and scope. There are already 10 offspring of Aganix du Seigneur at 1.60m level. Lillie Keenan and Agana van het Gerendal Z won the World Championship qualifier in Las Vegas, Agadance van 't Gelutt Z won the New York Saugerties and Athletix Hero Z was at the top in Tryon. Almost 50 sons of Aganix have already been licensed.
Dam's sire Eldorado van de Zeshoek (Willem Greve) was one of the top Dutch horses and competed in several Nations Cups. The foundation stallion has established himself at the top of the Horsetelex and WBFSH rankings. He owes this pole position to great offspring such as Killer Queen VDM (Daniel Deußer), Electric Blue, Jeunesse, Geneve R, Grandorado TN (Willem Greve) und Highway M TN. Eldorado van de Zeshoek's dam Bijou Orai jumped at 1.60 m level under Olivier Perreau.
Antonio's third dam, Acobata, produced three licensed stallions, including the legendary Cornado I and Cornado II, who both belong to the top 1% of stallions in the FN breeding value assessment.
Cornado I was once the champion stallion at the NRW main licensing. In addition to numerous successes in World Cup competitions, Cornado was also successful with Marcus Ehning in the individual team competition at the World Equestrian Games in Caen. They were also part of the German team at the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. Their own lifetime earnings now total 1.7 million euros.
Cornado II was also successful in the top show jumping competitions under Christian Ahlmann and won 1.60m jumping competitions.
The fourth dam Athena produced a 1.60m show jumper, Lumberjack, as well as two 1.45m show jumpers, Titania and Calantus.
