Albatros' long history of successful competitions began at his stallion performance test when he was placed fourth overall, with a score of 123.72 points. When Albatros was five years old, this impressive stallion was the best Hanoverian show jumper in his age group
At competitions, Albatros usually either won or was placed in his classes. In 2005 alone, he won an incredible 7 youngster classes (1.10m and 1.20m). In the following years, he won several 1.30m youngster classes, with marks up to 9.0 and qualified for the Bundeschampionat in both 2006 and 2007. Futher, in 2006, 2007 and 2008, he delivered clear rounds and won youngster classes at the world championships in Lanaken. As a seven-year-old, Albatros placed very well with Hendrik in 1.40m jumping classes several times. Most impressively, they won a jumping class S** (1.45m), gaining them the “Weser Ems”-championship-title in 2008.
For a fairly long time, Albatros has proven himself a competitive and talented athlete in international jumping classes and demonstrated to bystanders his willingness to perform and impress. After a great number of successes with Hendrik, Albatros was sold to the USA, where he is successful with a young female rider.
Origin
Albatros' sire, Acord II, is deemed one of the highest profiled international jumper sires. After a successful participation at the Bundeschampionat, he went on to win ribbons up to advanced (1.40m) level.
His dam Larika, a former auction foal at Vechta, also produced Albatros' licensed full brother, Astra-Look. She comes from the profound Trakehner mare family of Masliebchen to which many main sires belong, such as the Grand Prix horses Magister, Malachit, Magnet, the advanced (S) level dressage stallion, Maizauber and Märchenstein.
Numerous sport horses, including the advanced (S) level dressage horses Admirano and Maros, the advanced (S) level show jumpers C'est si bon and Goya S, as well as Märchenspiel, a successful advanced level eventing horse, come from this line.
